Oh, to be 21 and in Paris

Bonjour gypsies, today I'm here to gush about the city of love, where you go with your loved one and indulge yourself in the high that being infatuated provides. I'd i fall in love while there? Yes, I fell in love with Paris. It's such a great thing to arrive at night and go straight to Tocadero and get feel speechless while watching the Eiffel tower dazzle and shine all night. It leaves you breathless and makes you feel so small in the world. Just as tears where going down my eyes I  hit me, "I'm in one of the most beautiful moments I will have in my life". You have to take at least a week to see Paris, I had only one weekend the first time I visited while celebrating my roommate's birth day, but for some reason it was enough. We saw Notre Dame, the Locks Bridge, Basilica of the Sacré Cœur, Latin neighborhood, Versailles and the Louvre. I love art, I'm not an artist by any means... I can barely draw a smiley face, but I love renaissance art so there was a whole lot to see in the louvre for me. It's an experience on its own, it's time consuming so take at least 4-5 hours to see the master pieces. Afterwards we went to Versailles where we took the tour of the palace, rode bikes thru the gardens and had lunch by the lake. Most of these places offer discounts if your a student, but if you have a visa like we did it's free. In Paris our only real expenses we had where hostel, food and transportation. Paris during the day is way different than the ambiance it provides during the night, it's equally important to see the land marks in both times. I had the pleasure of going twice, the first time was with my roommates and the second one was with my mother. Each time was different. If you are looking to go out during the night there is a place called "Mix" located at Rue de l'Arrivée that's really good and "Duplex" that's a little bit more high end. But of you just want a drink and a nice place the talk the "Grand Rue" is the avenue for you. Paris should be on everyone's bucket list so I urge you to make and itinerary, pick a budget, grab your finest friends and go, because Paris is the closest thing we have to magic.

Obrigada

Hey gypsies, I've decided to start posting a recap of my past trips since I'm only weeks away from returning to my island. First in line? Portugal. A couple months back a group of 11 boricuas and I traveled to Portugal in search of amazing arquitecture and tasty wine, we got that and more. The fist city we visited was Oporto where we met Thiago a nice Portuguese guy who showed us around and bought us absinthe Oporto was my favorite city in Portugal because it's so laid back and beautifully, plus it reminded me of back home so much. After we moved to Lisboa where we took a walking tour of some of the most amazing areas that the city of Lisboa has to offer. The night life wasn't half bad either, actually it was perfect...and so where the Portuguese men. We had a blast tasting wine, walking thur the small towns, taking boat rides thru the different bridges and eating like crazy. Portugal, a must for every traveler who's looking for affordable adventure.

Finally here

Shame on me for leaving my blog in time out for  months but, I'm finally here and settled in. I've  currently been living in Spain for the past two and a half months and its been a dream to say the least. I have two amazing girl roomies and have quirky Mexican neighbors who throw some insane parties and cook crazy spicy.  My apartment building is smacked right in the middle of Madrid so everything and everyone is close and the public transit is utopia. I'm planing on doing a post on places to go here in Spain for those who want to venture into a full on euro trip and give you guys an insiders guide to the city.

The perfect outfit for the bipolar weather thats going  on

The fact that I'm in europe makes it less complictaed and cheap to explore the best it has to ofer and my group of friends here have no shortage of energy when it comes to jumping on a plane a just going. So far I've visited here in Spain: Toledo, Salamanca and Barcelona, Portugal: Lisboa and Opoto and France: Paris. Some of the next trips that are in store for the next few months are Ibiza, London, France, Italy, Morocco, Amsterdam and the Greek Islands, so be expecting pictures, tips and tricks from each destination.

Picture from my first night in Paris. Shes so perfect..

Something similar to what I'm wearing to paris when I go back in a couple of weeks

So, is all you do is party and travel? No, I'm  currently in Univesity here in Madrid taking clases that directly influence my mayor. Class here is so different from back home because they are about a whole year ahead and its been so enriching to be able to experience class with people from Spain, Mexico, Germany and China that I feel like I'm gaining experiences that will help me in the long run.  My professors are so knowledgable in their fields that its scary and so intrigued by my culture that its cute. I double pinky promise ill be updating AT LEAST weekly so be prepared to get smacked with content.

Maja

With -30 days till my departure to Spain my visa finally arrives with just enough time to spare so I could snag a really cheap ticket. I've spent the last two weekends rummaging thru malls (yes, during Christmas time)  for winter clothes, this is extremely hard because I live in a tropical island that never goes below 70 degrees. I fell in love with a black coat from Zara, but sadly was waAaAAaay out of my budget. The key while buying winter wear is to always gravitate towed neutrals so mixing and matching will keep you looking chic. So, while a neon yellow coat may seem like a great idea now, after 5 uses it's going to become a drag for you to find ways to reinvent it and you really won't be getting so much bang for your buck. So keep in minds: (dark wash) Jeans, (brown and black) boots, (gray white and terracota) sweater and  (black, gray, white, cranberry, and brown) coats. Catch some inspiration with these wonderful winter wearings.

This is a very similar coat to the one that got my heart at Zara. And this bag is very much like the one I snagged last weekend.

These boots are killing me and you can never go wrong when mixing neutrals.

Here is an outfit for a less chilly day, it will still keep you warm and looking hot.

My favorite outfit idea is this one, oxs blood is such a great color to work with because it adds richness to any outfit based on neutrals.

What happens if you see yourself in a painting by Monet?

During my summer trip to Chicago I was walking around the halls of the Art Institute and stumbled upon a special showing featuring some paintings by Monet. It was in that very moment that I feel in love with his work and the women in it. The delicate clothes, light colors and shapes in these women's bodies made me want to embrace my shape and also wear loads of skirts. Here I want to show you my favorite piece and some wearable  ways to do Monet in your day to day.

Here's my favorite piece by Monet: La Promenade

I wanted to feature the greens in the paintings in the outfit and the flow of the skirt will be balanced off with the tight black top.

Light grey is a color that goes thru the seasons with ease, and if its getting cold where you live throw a coat over and some boots and you're all set.

Ultra cool and versatile, this set is so wearable you could use it for class or even for a date.

Monet, Monet
What happens if you see your self in a Monet?
Do you keep it?
She had blonde hair like me
She had that freckle I have on my back
Looking over as if she had been called
I look the same way
I wear my hair the same way
My eyes are just as green
I found myself in a Monet, should I take it home I wait?

It's raining men's

It's inevitable to take a second look at a well dressed guy. Although we women think men have it easy when it comes to wardrobe, it's just as hard for them as it is for us. Menswear, just like womenswear, changes in colors and textures with the seasons. But personally, I think there is nothing sexier than a man in boots and a coat... Unless its Ryan Gosling in boots and a coat. So here are some mayor trends that are showing up in men's.

Slim legs, long shirts and leather are big for fall in men's. Also adding a hat or a beanie will finish pulling the outfit together

The Nike Pegasus Air are an example of a trendy item that you can take with you thought the seasons

I love the mixing of pieces that are super casual, like this leather varsity jacket, with super classic items

White with white is so cool and casual that it can be worn to different occasions and still have that first time effect

This post is dedicated to my grind Josue whom I love so much xo.
