City by the lake

Imagine New York, cleaner, with nicer people and some of the best pizza I've ever tasted. That's basically Chicago. It's a city filled with an eclectic mix of architecture and lots of coffee and that I love. I went to the Windy City to visit some family and found my self in between shops and museums galore. I restrained myself from only taking pictures of my food and outfits to show you some of what I saw in hopes that you too will fall for chi-town as hard as I did. Travel with me..

Look to learn and just for the hell of it

Sometimes I get these epiphanies and I just turn it UP! But some time I just flat out look like I live on the streets of Portland. It's days like this that's I search the magical/mystical world of the web to feed off some inspiration... And look at cats. Everyone knows tumblr but there are so many people on Instagram, Pinterest, and YouTube who minus well be running Vogue. How do you find these people? find someone who inspires you, then stalk the living hell out of them... I know it sounds brash but hear me out. Once you've found this living inspiration find out who they follow on social media sites, go into their profiles and see if you like what you see, same with YouTube. Videos are much easier because YouTube does all the work for you giving you some related posts on their side bar. I'm not saying its going to be instant, but when there's nothing to do on a rainy day, this will be just what you need. Here are some pictures and names to get you started..

back to basics

This summer has been grueling but that sure as hell doesn't mean less trends, it only means shorter shorts and tanner skin. Usually I'm the type that forces herself to taste the colors of the rainbow, but not during this summer. This summer the minimalist trend has been where I gravitate most towards. Whites, tans, grays and blacks with simple design and delicate jewelry is not only easier, but also on point. Acne has captured my attention for great quality an clean design. Acne has been making me drool over their ankle boots and their tops while making me wish it was December already so I can wear chunky knits. Mens wear speaking Cheap Monday is one of the front runners in the minimal trend showing off great jeans and simple tshirt combos that will make any regular guy double take worthy. Not only is minimalism the trend, but it's also very user friendly because basic colors allow you to mix and match with virtually no mistakes or fashion faux pas.
